I COME FROM A LONG TRADITION OF CHEESEMAKERS. MY FATHER WAS A CHEESEMAKER, MY GRANDFATHER, AND HIS FATHER BEFORE HIM. EVERY CLASSIC DUTCH CHEESE, LIKE EDAM, GOUDA, MAASDAM IS NAMED AFTER OLD DUTCH TOWNS, WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN SOLD FOR CENTURIES. CHEESEMAKING HAS BEEN A DUTCH AFFAIR FOR MORE THAN 2,000 YEARS, THERE’S NO WONDER WHY WE ARE SO GOOD AT IT. AND FRICO CHEESE IS LIVING PROOF.

Quality has never been negotiable with Frico. There’s quality everywhere, in every aspect of production. It all starts with… the grass. Frico is proudly made in Holland, a country full of green pastures throughout the year, with lots of fresh grass for cows to graze on. And then there’s the cows. Our Friesian cows are our special iconic breed that makes top quality milk, full of taste and nutrients. Our farmers look after their cows like they are members of their own family, making sure they are always healthy and happy.

Origin, natural goodness and craftsmanship: These are the three factors that are always present in our cheesemaking and ensure our superior, authentic taste.

Some of our cheeses have aged for many months or even years to lose most of their moisture, that makes them ideal for grating, gratin dishes, sauces, or salad dressings. Because their taste is so deliciously intense, they are perfect to enjoy on their own, with crackers, grapes or black olives.
